High School Entrance Exam

Every year, it becomes increasingly difficult to place your child in a Specialized High School. The entrance exams are difficult and can be stressful; while the application consists of a competitive pool of application. However, with the help of Star Learning Center, your child can gain the skills and confidence to do well on the exams to attend the school of their choice. We also offer advice on high school selections.

Specialized Science High School Admissions Test (SSHSAT)

The New York City Specialized Science High School entrance exam required for acceptance into one of the New York City selective high schools.

Student who take the Specialized Science High School Admissions Test get admission into one of the six Specialized High Schools. About 3500 students are accepted and we can help your child become one of the many.

Our learning center includes four full practice tests. Classes start at 10.00 am and end at 2 pm. Each class meets on Saturday for four hours and the class is equally divided for mathematics and verbal. Each class will have four to six students. Our classes begin from April.

(COOP) Catholic High School Entrance Exams

Many students who are studying to take the Catholic High School Entrance. Exam may feel stressed or overwhelmed. With our highly trained tutors, we can help them achieve a high score. Our tutors give one on one attention to each student for them to be able master each problem and gain confidence. We offer flexible sessions for students to gain test taking skills and the speed to answer questions within the given time.

Hunter High School Exam

The Hunter High School Exam that is specially designed for New York City's intellectually gifted sixth grade students. The exam is offered once in January of each year to students who reside within the five boroughs of New York who meet the specific criteria in reading and mathematics.


Our tutors prepare students for this difficult exam and ensure them that they are performing above grade level. We make sure that they are not pushed too hard beyond their abilities. They will be mastering a rich vocabulary and developing math, reading and writing skills. Your child will be challenged and stimulated.
